This is a maintenance release that includes the following new features and support updates, and that resolves the defects described in AnyConnect 4.10.08029:
I’m using the AnyConnect/CSC Client v5.1.2.42 x64 version, but I am seeing that somewhere out there is a client for cisco-secure-client-win-arm64-5.1.1.42-predeploy-k9. My org hasn’t made that client available so I haven’t been able to try it out.
The emulated version works just fine for me, it’s not like a VPN client uses a lot of compute so the extra overhead for emulation is negligible in my experience.
We ran into this today. Couldn’t work out why the client would go through the installation motions but not actually install anything until I realised we were working on a new ARM Surface Pro (Client procured, didnt’ tell us exactly what it was )
Seems Cisco aren’t supporting ARM64, and the link below works, but doesn’t include connect before login, which is the reason we use the client in the first place.
Perhaps dropping W10 is a bit premature …
W10 Enterprise LTSC EOL is 2027-01-12.
The Windows 10 Enterprise LTSC 2021 edition (version 21H2) will reach end of servicing on 2027-01-12
However the 1809 version is supported until 2029 and IOT version is supported until 2032.
As far as running on W11 ARM64 it appears CISCO support is about as good as it gets…
Thanks, that’s cool, nordvpn and mullvad clients have some peculiarity with the TUN/TAP device but it appears Cisco’s client works in some other way that can work with the emulation. Great!
Holy shit dude thank you so much! I couldn’t find a place to download the ARM version for my life lol. Was going to return the surface tomorrow due to this, but that might not be the case now😭 (still might to try the new lunar lake galaxy book)
Lifesaver. Been struggling past 2days with a new Snapdragon X Elite and I did´nt even notice it was ARM64 processor. cisco-secure-client-win-arm64-5.1.3.62-core-vpn-predeploy-k9.msi worked like a charm!
Note that installing various VPN (or really anything in Windows world) packages found on random websites with a Google search is EXTREMELY dangerous. Like literally there isn’t anything worse than that, the only saving grace is that this isn’t Photoshop or something, probably not that many bother to make malware that pretends to be some corporate VPN client, and for Windows ARM.
