I know that VPN is important and should be a part of my security. I have one. I know a password manager is important. I have one. I know offsite storage is necessary for important files. I have that too.
All I really would like is a good antivirus (paid is fine) that doesn’t nag or bundle other components I don’t want. Can anyone recommend me a few options, please? Thanks!
Hello,
As far as protection goes, any of the programs listed in the wiki at https://old.reddit.com/r/antivirus/wiki/index#wiki_anti-virus_.28aka_anti-malware.29_developers would be a good start.
Also be sure to read the https://old.reddit.com/r/antivirus/wiki/index#wiki_securing_your_computer section towards the end for additional tips for protecting your computer.

ESET, F-Secure, Sophos Home or Trend Micro are probably what you are looking for
Kaspersky (if you’re not in the US because fuck the US right?), ESET, Bitdefender
I have BitDefender free at the moment, but when I looked at their paid offerings these include VPN. It seems that their support basically instructs people to uninstall the VPN afterwards, which is not what I want. I’ll check out the other two, thanks.
