Am I good using Cyberghost for torrenting for the time being?

Hey I know a lot of you guys say to use Mullvad and that Cyberghost sucks (which to be frank, I’m sure it does). But I bought a month or Cyberghost and don’t feel like switching right now. I have cyberghost binded to my torrent client and the kill switch is on. I’m also constantly doing DNS leak tests and torrent leak tests before, during, and after downloading and I’ve seen no problems yet. So am i good for the time being? I’m probably gonna switch to Mullvad once the month is up but currently, I’m seeing no problems.

Cyberghost is part of kape industrys , which was known as crossrider , which literarily got malware named after them.

its also extremely expensive vs what other vpn deliver for the same price or cheaper , and absolutely one of the slower ones in the bunch.

cyberghost was good around 6-8 years ago.

(Also I made sure my torrent client was binded properly by downloading a legal torrent and turning my vpn off mid download. Everything seemed to be fine.)

I think you’ll make it through the month.

When you have a choice go for a better option but thousands, probably millions, download torrenta uaing less than ideal VPN providers without going to jail.

I’ve been using it for about a month now and have no complaints, they even have a cool feature named nospy servers. To my understanding those servers are based in Romania, and outside jurisdictions. I’ll probably move to mullvad as it has port forwarding.

PIAvpn is what I use and it doesn’t degrade my torrenting at all.

The issue here is, most people who are going to be paying for a VPN, will be using it indefinitely.
So there needs to be a yearly subscription discount and afaik Mullvad doesn’t have those.

CyberGhost is enforcing Bitpay for BTC payments.
Bitpay is requiring full KYC even before you can send any payment. This is gross.

The fact that CyberGhost is requiring service like Bitpay for crypto payment makes me think.
CyberGhost is also one of the VPNs that is not being blocked by one of the (questionable) online chats. Combined with Bitpay for crypto is doesn’t smells good (honeypot?).

Yea but am I gonna get caught by my isp rn?

You mean right about when they sold those sweet 7yr 5 device packages… That I bought… And then Kape industry’s bought them…

Lesson learned, never again buy such long dated access.

Lesson learned, never again buy suck long dated access.

this.

the perfect example would be mullvad you can buy monthly and they actually have pressure/reason to stay good else people can just cancel.

Another example , SurfsharkVPN was PERFECT for 2 years then something happened around 11/2022 and suddenly they are riddled with all kinds of issues , focus on a shitty avira based av and renamed themselfs as Surfshark one security.

everyone who extended 2-3 years before 11/2022 is now stuck with them.

All I needed to hear. I’ll upgrade to a new VPN after my subscription ends.

Yeah, I’m going Mullvad when it runs out. To be fair though, I’ve never had any issue with Cyberghost, they were 1 of the best at the time and I did a lot of research to check that. The team at the time behind Cyberghost was really on point with privacy, no logs and structuring themselves (legally) to protect their customers… I don’t have any of that same trust in who bought them out!

While I haven’t experienced any issues to date, it’s no longer a service I will rebuy because of who owns it today! I used to recommend Cyberghost to everyone… Now, I recommend they look into Mullvad.
